X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

Name: SOFIA MANTEGA-BARRET

Date of Birth: December 9, 1978

Powers: Control of air currents

Status: X-FORCER - AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS

A disgraced FBI profiler, Sofia Mantega-Barret was hired by Emma Frost as the official therapist for the X-Force team. A deal with Remy LeBeau brought her into the field as an active participant, in return for compliance in their sessions from the team. Aloof and highly self-controlled, Sofia nonetheless found herself becoming a part of the team and developing a certain fondness for the younger members, especially Mark Sheppard (who rescued her during a mission gone wrong) and Illyana Rasputin, who she adopted as her assistant. With their departures, Sofia withdrew into herself again, and is now working as a consultant profiler and expert witness for various court cases.

X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and we accept new characters as well as encourage people to adopt one of our orphans.

We also highly encourage readers - if you're looking for X-Men based entertainment, X-Project welcomes you to read along and enjoy the ride!

X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

Jacob Gavin Jr., is also known as 'Courier' as a result of his long-standing employment with his family's company, Infonet. Jake is a molecular-level shapeshifter, able to control every cell in his body and effect changes as minor as altering his eye colour, or as major as changing his entire gender. Stuck in a woman's form after X2, Jake came to Xavier's for help, somehow ending up as co-student counsellor with Pete Wisdom. Having regained his control again, Jake returned to Infonet, only to be coerced by Remy LeBeau into becoming a resource for intel-type matters, and later for X-Force when he was fired from Infonet and had an arm "stolen" by unknown assailants, later identified as part of the mysterious New Son organisation. X-Force became a haven for him, but when the pressures of interpersonal relationships got too much, Jake did what he does best and ran. New Son is still out there, however, and Jake found he needed his friends yet again - after a brief return, he is now undercover in Europe, looking for evidence of the mysterious Red Skull and his group, HYDRA.

X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

David North: The former Stasi agent first came to the notice of the X-Men after his Weapon X conditioning broke and he found himself fleeing Omega Red, vague memories of Logan driving him to seek asylum at the school. He disappeared after Omega Red was defeated, casting off his true identity as Chritophe Nord and becoming David North, maverick agent, before resurfacing again in early 2009. Again he needed help from the X-Men, as Daniel Lyman had double crossed him and activated the Shiva protocols, a failsafe used by Weapon X in the event of an agent gone rogue. With the help of Betsy Braddock and X-Force, North was able to "deactivate" the conditioned agents sent after him and found himself being offered a job with X-Force. In September 2009 he went deep undercover in Europe, for an unspecified amount of time, seeking information on mutant weaponisation programs.

X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

Pete Wisdom: Trained initially as an assassin and then as an agent for British Intelligence from the age of 18, Pete spent ten years working in intelligence before becoming disillusioned and being fired for his particular brand of objecting to certain decisions. He relocated to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, ostensibly the guidance counsellor and self-defence teacher, but in reality running Charles Xavier's intel network for the X-Men. The arrival of Amanda Sefton, a runaway mutant witch entrusted to his care by his sister Romany, added a personal aspect to Pete's position at the school, the girl quickly becoming family to him. It was on her account he went undercover for a year as the White King of the Hellfire Club, a move that was seen by those not in the loop, such as Remy LeBeau, as a personal betrayal. Following the fall of Selene, Pete left the school and later sought out Remy, Amanda and Betsy Braddock to help him rescue his sister. The group that they gathered became the foundation of a new team, X-Force, of which Pete was a field leader for three years until his physical and mental breakdown following the events of Day Zero and Mechanisms of Revenge. Plagued by his callous sacrifice of friends and innocents in the cause, he is currently AWOL, trying, in his words, to 'get his head on straight'.
